Cryptic tweets suggest Android 4.4 KitKat could launch on October 28

A pair of tweets from the Twitter account @KitKat have fueled speculation that Google's next Android refresh, controversially dubbed KitKat, is set to launch later this month. Specifically, many believe we could see the new software -- and perhaps a new gadget or two -- arrive on October 28.
In what may be a bit of a stretch, the general consensus is that the first image showing the Android KitKit logo with the tagline “everybody dance now” is a reference to C+C Music Factory’s 1990 debut album (and hit single) Gonna Make You Sweat. Members of the group were previously in a house-music group called The 28th Street Crew -- it’s the 28th that web users have picked up on from the first visual clue.
The second image contains the tagline “Sometimes you have to look for the signs…” and shows a series of KitKat candy bars arranged to spell out “This Is It.” This could be a reference to Michael Jackson’s 2009 American documentary / concert film which just happened to be released on October 28.
Make of it what you will but a late-October release certainly seems plausible given Google’s track record. Last year, the search giant announced Android 4.2, the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 all on October 29. Given the KitKat revelations, does that also mean we might see the Nexus 5 officially surface on the 28th, too?

  • Wimbledon champion Tweeted mock panic but managed to arrive on time

Wimbledon champion Andy Murray smiles as he receives his OBE medal from the Duke of Cambridge.

Andy Murray joked he was almost late to receive his OBE from Prince William because he was in the middle of a random drug test.
The Wimbledon champion Tweeted his mock panic just hours before he was due to attend the Duke of Cambridge’s first investiture saying: ‘In the middle of a drugs test hahaha I’m going to be late.’
But the tennis star managed to arrive on time, turning up in a chauffeur-driven people carrier and posing for photographers with his girlfriend Kim Sears and parents Judy and William before the ceremony.
He said testers turned up at his door at 8.20am when he had booked a taxi for half past eight.
‘I was a bit worried I was going to be late but the taxi did a great job in getting us here.’
‘It’s part of the job but when you have a day like today you are looking forward to, it’s the last thing you need.’
Later in the day Murray went on Twitter again, posting a photo of his dog Maggie May wearing the medal around her neck.
When he went to pick up his award, the two-time Grand Slam winner teased The Duke of Cambridge  about a good luck note he had sent him before the Wimbledon finals.
1-adny murrayAfter the player’s name was called – ‘Mr Andrew Murray For Services to Tennis’ – William smiled and talked to Murray for more than a minute, discussing his recent back surgery and a letter the Duchess of Cambridge had sent him.
The former US Open champion said he was surprised they had spoken for so long as he was told the handover would only take around 15 seconds.
‘He asked me about my recent back surgery which I had a few weeks ago and how I was feeling after Wimbledon.
‘I teased him a bit as he had sent me a note to me before Wimbledon wishing me luck and his wife had written me a letter afterwards.
‘Her handwriting was beautiful and I told him how fantastic it was compared to his.
‘I have met him a few times before and he has always been very easy going. He seemed very relaxed today.’

Murray’s mother, Judy, also took to the social network site during the day, posting a photo of her son on the steps of Buckingham Palace after the ceremony, saying: ‘Yes I cried.’
In what is sure to be the first  ceremony of a long royal career, William also presented awards to recipients from across the UK, including an OBE to Vicar Of Dibley producer Jon Plowman and an MBE to singer and presenter Aled Jones.

Watch Dogs delayed to spring 2014

[UPDATE] Amazon and GameStop have issued statements about what the Watch Dogs delay means for people who have preordered the game and/or a console bundle.
"For those of you who pre-order the Watch Dogs PlayStation 4 bundle—don't worry—you will still be getting your Playstation 4 (without Watch Dogs) based on your current delivery estimate. We are adjusting the orders now and will update you once we know more," Amazon said.
Meanwhile, a GameStop representative provided a statement to IGN on the matter.
"With the news that Ubisoft has delayed the release of the highly-anticipated title Watch Dogs until next year, GameStop is contacting customers who had reserved PlayStation 4 and Xbox One bundles featuring the game. Customers can elect to keep their current bundle orders and their consoles will ship as scheduled with the game shipping separately once it is available or customers can choose another bundle to replace their current order. Customers should also note that there may be a difference in the price if selecting another bundle and that all reserved orders will be charged upon shipment."
The original story is below.
Ubisoft's next-generation open-world game Watch Dogs has been delayed to spring 2014. The game was previously scheduled to launch in November for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC, and Wii U.
"Our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming," Ubisoft said in a statement. "It is with this in mind that we've made the tough decision to delay the release until spring 2014."
"We know a lot of you are probably wondering: Why now? We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality," the developer added. "As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience."
Sony previously announced a special Watch Dogs PS4 bundle for the United Kingdom. With the game now delayed into 2014, an Ubisoft representative told GameSpot, "Our partnership with Sony remains strong and we will have more details to share about the specific benefits of this partnership for PlayStation customers at a later date."
Regarding North America, the Ubisoft representative told GameSpot, "If you have pre-ordered a Watch Dogs bundle in North America please contact your retailer for your options."
Ubisoft also delayed racing game The Crew today, pushing that title to sometime in the company's upcoming financial year. This means the earliest the game could be released is April 1, 2014.
"Our long-term goal is to win the next generation. The tough decisions we are taking today to fully realize the major potential of our new creations have an impact on our short-term performance," Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said in a statement. "We are convinced that, longer term, they will prove to be the right decisions both in terms of satisfaction for our fans and in terms of value creation for our shareholders. We are building franchises that will become perennial pillars of Ubisoft's financial performance. In a context of growing successes for mega-blockbusters, the additional time given to the development of our titles will allow them to fulfill their huge ambitions and thus offer players even more exceptional experiences."
As a result of the two game delays, Ubisoft has lowered overall company sales targets for the year. The publisher is now expecting between €995 million and €1,045 million in sales for the year, compared to prior targets of sales between €1,420 million and €1,450 million.

Twerking to the top: Miley Cyrus scores double No.1 with Bangerz and Wrecking Ball

Both Miley Cyrus’ new single Wrecking Ball and album Bangerz have topped the UK charts.
The singles chart result pushes rapper Eminem’s latest track Bezerk back to second place, followed by last week’s number 1 Counting Stars by One Republic, R U Crazy by Conor Maynard and The Saturdays’ Disco Love.
Wrecking Ball is the singer’s second track to reach number 1 after We Can’t stop, the first release from Bangerz.
Miley is now the first artist this year to have two chart toppers at the same time. This was last achieved in December 2012 by Olly Murs when hit Troublemaker and album Right Place, Right Time both debuted in the top spot. Ms Cyrus’ previous highest-charting album was Can’t Be Tamed, which reached number 8 in the UK.
The former Disney star was undoubtedly helped by the recent controversy surrounding her raunchy live performances.
Over on the albums chart, just behind Bangerz is Chase & Status with third album Brand New Machine; Arctic Monkeys continue to hover in the top five with AM; Kings of Leon are at 4 with Mechanical Bull, and last week’s album chart toppers Haim round out the top five with Days Are Gone.

Grand Theft Auto V coming to PC in early 2014

Grand Theft Auto V will be released on PC at the start of 2014,
Citing multiple industry sources, the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is said to be coming within the first quarter of 2014.
The release window is said to mirror Grand Theft Auto IV, which Rockstar released on consoles in April 2008 before bringing it to PC in December that year.
Since launching on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 17, Grand Theft Auto V made $1 billion in revenue in its first three days on sale.
Chip maker Intel yesterday said it expects to see GTAV on PC. Intel director of marketing Chris R. Silva said, "At least with Grand Theft Auto, I don't think it'll be console-exclusive very long. But that's what happens when you have a brand new launch with two companies that have lots of money trying to make sure they have content."
Silva added that the reason Rockstar hasn't yet announced GTAV on PC is because "Somebody paid a lot of money to make sure that title was exclusive."
A Change.org petition for a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is now close to breaking 600,000 signatures.

According to Kotaku Brazil, Microsoft's Xbox One will sell for R$2,200 in Brazil, or around $1,016.

In the United States, the PS4 will sell for $400, while the Xbox One will be available for $500.

ASUU strike: Lamido of Adamawa calls for reconciliation between FG, lecturers

The Federal Government and Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), have been urged to reconcile their differences with a view to re-opening universities closed three months ago due to strike.
The Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo, made the appeal during Eid-El- Kabir Sallah Durbar in Yola on Tuesday.
According to the Monarch, no nation can develop when its educational sector is stagnant.
“If we really agree that the youths of today are the leaders of tomorrow, then we must collectively find solution to the educational problems in the country.
“Let me use this opportunity to appeal to both Federal Government and the members of ASUU, to find lasting solution to this avoidable strike for the sake and progress of our children as the leaders of tomorrow.’’
On insecurity, the royal father urged his people to live in peace with one another and assist government in maintaining peace and stability.
He stressed that government alone cannot protect the lives and property of its citizenry without the support of the people.
“I, therefore, call on the good people of the state, irrespective of their differences, to support government’s effort toward ensuring security.’’
The monarch also warned farmers to desist from early sales of their farm produce without making reservation for the next farming season.
He called on the State Government to make improved seeds and tractors available to the farmers early enough to enhance their productivity. (NAN)

National conference: Okupe attacks Tinubu, accuses him of peddling falsehood

doyin okupe 1
Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, has lambasted the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his recent comment on the proposed national conference.
Okupe said Tinubu’s position does not represent the views of majority of Yoruba people in the South West.
Tinubu had described the national dialogue as a “Greek Gift”, diversionary and an act of public deception, which according to him was also ill-timed because of the closeness to the 2015 Elections.
In his reaction, Okupe said that Tinubu’s first reaction on arrival from overseas medical trip was not well thought out and was roundly opposed, rejected and condemned by a clear majority of Nigerian people, in particular, the authentic Yoruba leadership in the South West.
“It is therefore crystal clear and unarguable that whatever position the APC leader holds on the issue of the National Conference does not represent the views of the majority of Yoruba people in the South West.
“His (Tinubu) assertion that there is an ulterior motive behind the conference is purely conjectural and speculative, and has no foundation in any reasoning or logic. The onus is heavily on him to prove this; hence we will not dwell too much on this unjustifiable conclusion.” Okupe said yesterday at a press conference.
Okupe said President Jonathan had shown convincingly that he was a credible, reliable and capable leader by his unprecedented achievements in such a short space of time.

National conference: Jonathan should be in Nollywood, not Aso Rock – Tinubu carpets presidency

Former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, has said that “the reaction of Goodluck Jonathan’s Presidential cry babies” to his extensive comments on the proposed national conference was predictable.
In a statement made available to DailyPost on Monday, Sunday Dare, Tinubu’s Media Adviser, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, stated that rather than deal with the salient and substantial issues surrounding the proposed National Conference raised by the former governor, the reaction from the presidency skirted around them.
“In a typical fashion, it resorted to abusive language and name calling. Okupe, like a punch drunk pugilist, threw several empty jabs and went on a flight of fancy praising his boss and flaunting fictional achievements of the administration in the face of Nigerian,s” Dare said.
“We leave Nigerians to judge. They are the ones who feel the pains and millions will not be able to relate to all the fictional transformational achievements reeled out by the Presidency. Nigerians are saddled with a President who believes fiction is more important than fact and imagination is more genuine than reality.
“While we would not mind such a person to be a leading figure in our Nollywood film industry, I am frightened that he is the Chief Resident of Aso Villa and surrounded by a cast of like minds.
Tinubu maintained that his searching questions about the Jonathan Conference remain fundamental.
He urged Jonathan and “his cry babies” to take time to read through the statement and address the cloud of doubts surrounding the proposed conference.
“This is a flip-flopping Presidency and on this issue, it must provide answers.
The statement added that Tinubu is satisfied that he has raised the provocative questions that should be asked and no amount of shadow boxing and presidential foul language can change that.

ASUU strike: Lecturers vow to continue strike, rebuffs govt’s ‘no work, no pay’ rule

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has said there is no going back on the already four-month-old strike except the federal government fully implements the agreement it reached with the union in 2009.
In a peaceful protest held Monday by Nsukka Zone of the union, comprising all Federal and state universities in the South-East states at the Freedom Square, Awka, the union said the lecturers were ready to bear the brunt of the strike.
ASUU said though for two months now, the federal government had not paid lecturers as a result of the implementation of no-work-no-pay rule, it is the only sacrifice it could make to bring the country’s education on track again.
The union said if it were for their own interest, they would return to work to earn their salaries.
Addressing the protesting workers, the coordinator of the Nsukka Zone, Comrade Dr Chidi Osuagwu said, “We have had enough patience since 2009 when the ASUU/FG agreement was reached. We are not talking of renegotiation any longer, we are talking of implementation”.
He urged members of the union to march on with the strike and not be deterred as it survived the onslaught of the military government led by General Ibrahim Babangida in 1992, and would surely survive this with the encouragement of the poor masses whom the government seek to cut off from education.
On his part, the chairman of ASUU in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Comrade Prof Ike Odimegwu said, “Nigeria as a country has never had a shortfall in revenue since the 1980s, but the government keeps insisting that it has no money. We are aware that there is more than enough money.
“We want to tell Nigerians that if the ASUU strike fails, there will be negative consequences for the Nigerian education sector. An average Nigerian will pay N200,000 as tuition in a federal university, and over 80 percent of parents will not be able to train their children in University.
“We are, therefore, calling on Nigerians to joins us and question the Nigerian government, and call them to place priorities right. Trillions have been allocated to build a centenary village, but here we can not meet the UNESCO approved 26 percent budget for education. We must tell the government that 8.2 percent budget for education is not enough”.
Men of the Federal Road Safety Commission, the Police and Road Traffic agency in Anambra were on hand to provide security and direct vehicles peacefully in the course of the protest, while the angry lecturers marched with placards.
Some of the placards carried by the protesters read “Nigeria: right country, poor education, fund education, fund development, ASUU for quality education, no politics in education, FG save universities among others”.

Nollywood’s top 3 best dressed actresses

GENEVIEVE NNAJI
She is a queen, it’s very obvious from the way she dresses.  Born May 3, 1979, this beautiful actress has been active from 1987 till now.  With hundreds of movies she featured in, she is still the talk of the town when it comes to hitting the red carpet with beautiful outfits and matching shoes.
Genevieve almost never goes wrong. She wows people all the time she steps out.  Though we don’t see much of her at events, she still updates us on her Instagram account where she posts pictures of herself.
At Half of a Yellow Sun premiere held in Canada, she stepped out in an all white Andrea Iyamah jumpsuit, looking stunning as always.
The mother of one loves to step out in beautiful ensembles. She adores white and black.  She is crazy for shoes and bags.  Her make-up is ever slight that she never goes wrong with it.
She rocked a dazzling long see through dress designed by Deola Sagoe to Mo Abudu’s Ebony Life TV launch recently.
The portable actress recently spoilt herself with the Chanel Lego bag.
We can authoritatively say she’s one of the few best dressed Nigerian entertainment celebrities.

Born Rita Uchenna Nkem Uwaturuocha Dominic, she is unarguably the best dressed actress now. Rita’s styles are beyond here and she stays impressing us every single time she steps out.  She is bathed with class and has a high dress sense that amazes her fans always.
The 38 year-old young woman who loves her hair ever full, wears bohemian weaves most times.
Rita’s outfit to 2Face’s Dubai nuptials was definitely jaw dropping.  I remember she was the most talked about during that wedding.  She stepped out in a white shirt, white pants, a sky blue blazer and a lovely black hat. She looked honestly beautiful.
Rita didn’t stop there, she didn’t let her fans down even at the after party of 2Face and Annie Idibia. She wore a short polka dot dress, black shoes and a red purse. She looked stunning.
At the recent glamorous Nigerian Entertainment Awards that was held in New York, USA, Rita looked like a princess in a long blue studded dress by Ugonna Umeruo’s House of Nwocha.
She has been very consistent in her work and she recently got an award at the NEA.
Her Instagram page also never gets quiet as comments roll in immediately she uploads a photo.  We see their daily outfits here on Instagram and Rita doesn’t try less because she’s not on the red carpet.  She still impresses.

 EBUBE NWAGBO
One of Nollywood fast rising actresses, she grew up in Warri, Delta State.  Ebube Nwagbo has featured in series of movies and she is presently working on her own movie.
Ebube’s dress sense is also the most talked about in town.  She knows how to match those shoes and also has correct outfits for particular events.
At Miss Global Nigeria 2013 beauty pageant finale held at the Xovar Lounge, Lekki, Ebube stunned fans in a  sweet mono-strap flowing white dress, she had matching shoes and purse and her make-up was absolutely on point.
At the AY Live Show held mid-year 2013, she also stepped out in a little black dress, red shoes, multi-coloured clutch and a lovely matching neckpiece.  Ebube’s hair was not left out. She had her lace wig on.  During Rukky Sanda’s movie premiere also, she wore a black sleeveless top, leopard print pink skirt, leopard print shoes and a beautiful neckpiece. She definitely didn’t disappoint her fans.
She also made a statement at Yvonne Nelson’s House of Gold premiere at Silverbird Galleria.  The sexy lady wore a hot pink dress with a light green shoe.  Ebube’s choice of accessories is always fabulous.

New iPads coming later this month?

1-ipad
Rumours abound that Apple is preparing a major new launch event.
The new generation of Apple iPads could be launched as soon as 22 October, according to sources ‘familiar with Apple’s plans’.
Tech blog “AllThingsD” is reporting that Apple is planning its next invitation-only launch event that day, and that it aims to launch not just new iPads, but the new MacBook Pro, and a new desktop operating system – OS X Mavericks.
The fifth generation of the Californian company’s iconic iPad is likely to be thinner and lighter, with an improved camera and a more powerful processor – Apple’s much-vaunted new 64-bit A7 chip. Also expected is the second-gen iPad mini, which is thought to be being upgraded to use a “retina” display like its larger sibling.
There’s no information as to whether the new iPads might include the Touch ID fingerprint scanner that comes with the just-released iPhone 5S.

Gov. Fashola comes to dying Pa Kasumu’s aid

Succour has come to the ailing veteran Yoruba actor, Kayode Odumosu otherwise known as Pa Kasumu as the Lagos State governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola has taken up his treatment.
Pa Kasumu, who has been battling with serious liver and heart related ailments had come out to seek assistance from the public to help raise the sum of N12 million to foot the bills for the treatment.
Sources close to Governor Fashola who would not want his name  mentioned on Saturday, 12 October 2013, disclosed on a telephone chat that the Governor, after seeing Pa Kasumu’s interview on Channels Television on Friday evening, was moved to assist the thespian and ordered that his case be taken up immediately.
He said, “It was after the Governor saw Pa Kasumu on Channels Television on Friday evening that he texted that Pa Kasumu’s case should be taken up immediately.”
When asked further the exact amount the government was to give the ailing actor, he said, “It is not a specific amount at the moment. He will first be examined by medical experts who will do a proper evaluation of his health status and make recommendations as to the exact treatment he will receive. The fact at the moment is that everything he needs will be catered for by the state government.”
It will be noted that this is not the first time that the benevolent governor will be making such an intervention after making similar life-saving moves in paying actress, Ngozi Nwosu’s medical bills and contributing to OJB Jezreel’s medical bill.
‘I don’t want to die now, I need N12 million’
Veteran actor, Olugbenga Kayode Odumosu, popularly known as Pa Kasumu is not enjoying good health at the moment. The script the comic actor is interpreting right now is not in any way funny. He is battling serious liver and heart related ailments which have affected his sight and memory. He needs about N12 million to enable him travel abroad for intensive medicare. He is, therefore, appealing to all well meaning Nigerians and governments to come to his aid so that he can overcome the predicament.
The Odogbolu, Ogun born thespian opened up on this and more when visited at his residence at 9, Alayaki Street, Mushin, Lagos, on Friday, October 11, 2013, at around 6pm…
Since few days ago, social media has been agog with reports about your poor condition of health which calls for urgent attention, especially in terms of financial assistance. What is the actual situation of things now?
Thank you, my brother. All you heard about me is nothing but the truth. What happened was that the whole thing started since 2009 when I had liver, kidney and heart related problem. But thank God, between 2009 and 2010, the first doctor I met at Cardiology Department at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idiaraba, Lagos, was able to tackle the problem by stopping it from affecting my kidney.
Now, it’s only my heart and liver that are not functioning well, which need to be corrected. They have been badly damaged to the extent that the situation has affected my sight, and I have also developed partial stroke. I am not the type that likes broadcasting this kind of a thing, that’s why I have been trying to prevent the situation from becoming a public issue.
If I have spent about N4 million since then till date, you should know what I mean.
That means you might have sold some property or gone into borrowing or did you raise this kind of fund?
Yes, I have sold so many things, including my two plots of land, my BMW car and other things to make sure I get back to my normal state of health, all to no avail.
What’s the next step to save you from this terrible situation?
The medical doctors I contacted had advised I should be flown abroad for intensive medicare. They suggested that I should travel to Germany, India or Israel, where the ailment will be properly addressed.
Are you aware it may involve surgery which may cost you a lot of money?
I wouldn’t know what it will involve because I am not in the medical line but I have been told that the whole thing will cost me not less than N12 million. But what I am noticing is not encouraging, and time is running out fast. The more I stay at home, the worse the situation is. That’s why I am pleading with all well meaning Nigerians to help me out of this situation with their milk of kindness and mercy.
I am in a serious predicament, and nothing I only can do to save this kind of a situation. It’s beyond me. People should just help me. I don’t want to die now. I want to live long and still be relevant.
Is that exactly what informed the broadcast on social network?
Yes. I am aware of everything. They are trying to help me reach out to the public, to solicit funds from whoever feels concerned about my present condition.
How can people reach you if they want to support you financially?
I have an account with Diamond Bank, Olugbenga Kayode Odumosu as the name, and the number is 0036059543 or the person can as well reach me directly.
Is there any committee that has been formed specifically for fund raised to save Pa Kasumu’s life?
Yes, something like that as decided by my niece, Mrs. Idowu Olajide, who is also a medical laboratory personnel. She is to coordinate the committee.
That means members of the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) that you belong have not initiated a committee in respect of your situation?
Let me come out straight on that. I am yet to hear from ANTP. I must say the truth now because everything is getting out of hand.
But we learnt they have raised N1 million for you?
So, I heard but I am yet to get any alert from Diamond Bank. Maybe the cheque is still with somebody, I don’t know anything about that for now.
But are you sure they are fully aware of what you’re going through right now?
Yes, they are fully aware because a lot of them, including Jide Kosoko, Yomi Fabiyi, Henrietta Kosoko and few others visited. It was Yomi Fabiyi who called their attention to my health situation, and they were all here together on Tuesday, October 8, 2013.
What did they promise you when they came?
They only came to see the situation of things first but it’s only Jide Kosoko that moved closer, and told me we would talk later. But since then, I have not heard from him.
Who donated the N1 million you talked about?
Yomi Fabiyi said it was donated by one of my fans, but he didn’t mention the person’s name.
What do you want the government to do for you as a matter of urgency?
I want the government to help me out. Either Lagos State government or that of Ogun State or anywhere in the country. All I need is the money that will take care of my medical needs abroad, if God gives me the grace to travel out as soon as the situation demands.
Can you eat all the regular foods now?
No, I only feed on fruits day and night. I can’t eat regular food.
How regular do you take your medication?
I do that regularly. In fact, since 2009, I have not stopped taking my medication which has cost me a lot of money. Between 2009 and 2010, it was a must for me to visit LUTH for medical attention three times in a week. In a week, I used to spend nothing less than N35,000.
But  now, how much do you spend to take care of yourself?
I need not less than N40,000 in a week for physiotherapy alone because I have also developed arthritis. Had it been I have money, they advised it should be on a daily basis and it will cost N10,000 per day.
I have blurred vision, I can’t walk well and it has also affected my memory. It’s even better now, before if I talked and you ask me to repeat what I just said, I would say something different. But with the situation of things now, I only spend N40,000 monthly on everything.
How long did they say this can continue before you travel, if you get the money?
That I can’t say. The advice I was given was the earlier, the better. That’s why I am appealing to all good Samaritans, home and abroad to rally support to save my life.
But are you assured that if all these are done, and you finally travel abroad, you will be back on your feet?
Yes, I have been assured by God’s grace.
Since this problem started, did you ever act?
I did one with Ultima Productions, Ray’s Family Biz. It was directed by Bayo Alawiye, who invited me to the production, and I played the character of Uncle Joe. That was in 2012.
When last did you feel you couldn’t continue with acting again because of the sickness?
That was the movie I featured early this year but my performance wasn’t satisfactory to me as an actor. And when I discovered I couldn’t continue, I had to quit. Since then, I haven’t been myself.
What do you now miss the most due to this ailment?
My happiness, of course. I need to be happy. It’s when I am happy that I can make my fans happy as well.
Are you still able to play your conjugal role as a man with your wife?
Don’t let us talk about that at all because the sickness has affected me from head to toe. So, no part of my body is spared.
What was even the cause of the ailment?
That I can’t even explain. It could have come from anywhere, anyhow.
Do you smoke and drink alcohol?
I drink sometimes but I stopped smoking since 1977. That was the year I had my first born.
How many children do you have now?
They are four – three boys and a girl.
How many wives?
My first wife is late. She had three children but the one with me is Motunrayo Odumosu, who gave birth to the last boy in the house. His name is Oluwanifemi Odumosu.
Has your wife been very supportive, especially during this trying period?
Yes, she is not only my wife, she is my mother. Apart from money, she is very caring. She stands by me all the time.
Also, all my family members, including my children, Tunde, Babajide and Abiola Odumosu, my niece, Mrs. Idowu Olajide, and my nephew, Dayo Olorode. They have all tried for me. They all live around me all the time. I pray God will be with them also in all their endeavours.
There was a time we learnt you wanted to celebrate your 60th birthday but nothing was hard about it again…
(Cuts in) It was due to my sickness. I clocked 60 in March this year. But I couldn’t do that. I had it in my plan to even celebrate my 45 years on stage. But man proposes, God disposes. But all I need now is sound health. I believe there are still more years ahead by the grace of God.
